Based in southern Portugal, we offer curated all-inclusive birding holiday packages & excursions, with professional, resident and fully licensed Birding and Nature Guides at your disposal, in a stunning location.
As well as providing accommodation and Guides we're also photographers and for those who aren't, (and even for those who are!), we include in any excursion guided by Frank, the owner, a photographic record of the day and species we saw for your personal use. Being photographers ourselves helps us also give those with the same passion the benefit of our extensive experience in this field and this area. As regards our accommodation, we base ourselves at Quinta do Barranco da Estrada, a lakeside birder's lodge if ever there was one, with a relaxed but professional attitude, good food and wine, watersports, a total absence of 21st century noise and with a view to die for. It's a real birdwatcher's paradise and just the place for a birding vacation, recognised the World over as can be seen here at 10,000 Birds.
We have hides in the vicinity - one in the garden less than 100 mts from your door which is especially geared towards Golden Orioles which nest in the garden between April and August - and both this and the "Water Rail and Kingfisher Hide" we built overlooking our nearby river are free to use whenever you'd like.
