Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) Bico-grossudo

Hawfinches have a scattered distribution in Portugal, resident for the most part in the north, but only a winter visitor south of Lisbon. It is very shy and difficult to observe, preferring to keep to the high canopy of deciduous trees. On occasion it is prone to visiting orchards, particularly cherry trees.
