Audouin´s Gull (Larus audouinii) Gaivota de Audouin

This gull, that used to be so rare, has seen a marked increase both in range and numbers during the last few decades and can now be found with some regularity along the Portuguese southern coastline. An unmistakeable bird with a slender bill that is deep red with a small black tip, Audouin's Gulls have an overall "clean" appearance, a light grey back and upper wings with much black in the tip.
